In the last minutes, there was a 20 minute period of time or so when there were no donations... While I suppose it's possible, I just don't think it's very likely. People who would donate more usually do so at the beginning of a drive. They don't wait until the last minute. The time counter is some sort of flash script (it runs on its own). The money counter is a fixed JPG file that apparently gets re-created periodically.
